While each member of the Peninsulas EMS Council staff and Board of Directors brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, direction and leadership are provided by our Executive Committee.  The Executive Committee is a composite of the officers of the Board of Directors and consists of the following members:

• President - The President of the Board of Directors is its chief executive officer.  Our current president is Julia B. Glover, a Lifetime Member of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire & Rescue and a high school teacher for York County Public Schools. 
• Vice President - The Vice President of the Board takes on the role of President in his or her absence.  The position of Vice President is William P. Dent, a Councilman for the City of Williamsburg and a retired Fire Chief of the Williamsburg Fire Department.
• Treasurer - The Treasurer is the primary financial officer of the Board, assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, approving expenditures and overseeing financial accounts.  Currently, PEMS Treasurer is David Barrick, a retired EMS Chief of the Newport News Fire Department.
• Secretary/Executive Director - The Executive Director of the Council also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Council and its employees.  The current Secretary/Executive Director is Michael B. Player.  He has served as the Executive Director of PEMS since 2011.  The Secretary/Executive Director is a non-voting member of the Executive Committee.
• Regional Medical Director - The current Regional Medical Director is Amir K. Louka, MD, an Emergency Department Physician and an Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of EMS, VCU Health  
• At-Large Member - One member of the Board of Directors as elected from the body of the Board.  The At-Large position is currently filled by Gary Samuels NRP, Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital.
• At-Large Member - One member of the Board of Directors as elected from the body of the Board.  The At-Large position is currently filled by Sherwin Stewart , from Sentara Careplex Hospital.

Executive Committee Members serve for a period of one year.
